The following is a basic breakdown of the systems configurations we can provide. The projected savings and return periods are calculated with large residential and light commercial data gathered. We have prorated the systems with 4 to 5 ton units. The units on your site are larger and savings may be substantially greater. They are very modest and do not include any utility rebate or contribution. 

CECAD Energy Management Systems

Note:

The actual savings will vary from zone-to-zone and application-to-application. Systems include a PC based console. On site and TCP/IP remote operations are also available for additional fees.

Savings Calculations are projected at $100.00 per 5-ton unit per month. Actual savings will vary depending on size and hours of use. Systems with heat pumps or strip heat systems may enjoy more savings due to additional electrical demand for these non gas types of heat. 

Southern California Utility Providers have been very unclear about their contribution to our systems approach. We expect their contributions and possibly state mandated measures to apply shortly.

We have found that the single most costly system component in not the motor or compressor being operated but the operator himself, the human factor.

Our systems clearly provide savings and eliminate this greatest contribution to energy waste

The systems can provide the following energy savings functions:

Load Shedding For Peak Demand Hours

During peak, brown out, or standby power conditions zones can be scheduled to permit areas to be conditioned alternately or sequentially. This provides an immediate savings and a shortened duration of discomfort

Example 1:

When zones are in OFF cycles the system FAN can be set to operate to continue air flow and air quality. Savings are reduced but comfort is increased.

Multiple time Multiple Day Set Back Schedules

Each zone can be easily scheduled to vary in comfort level depending on time of day, day of week, length of use, or absence of use. Special events or absences can also be scheduled.

Zone Priority

When in load shedding or multiple set back modes critical areas like computer or health care areas can be prioritized to ensure minimum levels of cooling and heating. These modifications can include a variety of conditional inputs including maximum and minimum comfort levels or area occupancy with use of additional sensors

Limited Local Comfort Function

Local adjustments can be forbidden or allowed for a 2-hour maximum set point change. All presets will restore and schedules will complete.

Hours Override

Managers or off hours staff including cleaning and maintenance crews can access overrides for predetermined period of time

Occupancy Set Back (requires additional sensors)

Environmental settings can be modified depending on many input variables including input from occupancy sensors from existing security or lighting management systems, access control system information, and more.

Offsite Administration

Systems monitoring and most functions described above an be accessed via TCP/IP browser and remote control. Perfect for administration to multiple sites.
